RKSV (Registrierkassensicherheitsverordnung) is Austria's mandatory regulation for electronic cash registers: businesses operating in Austria must tamper-sign every receipt and store and export DEP data as required by the tax authority FinanzOnline. Non-compliant operation faces penalties.

Compliance comes down to two things. First, the signature chain: each receipt carries a JWS/ES256 signature derived from a signing credential, together with the Kassenidentifikationsnummer (cash register ID) and an encrypted counter, so receipts form a verifiable chain. Second, DEP export: the system must export DEP-7 format data per the FinanzOnline specification for tax audits.

Kuaiding POS implements these requirements as standard product capabilities: signing credential management (including the register ID), receipt signature-chain generation, tax-category management (mapping to RKSV's five tax-class amount slots), DEP-7 data export, plus RKSV-conformant receipt printing and support for APD receipt printers.

What a store needs to prepare: register the cash register with the Austrian tax authority and obtain the register ID; provide the signing credential information for system configuration. Day-to-day operation needs no extra steps — signing and counting happen automatically within the checkout flow.

In short: RKSV is not solved by buying a 'compliant printer' — it is an end-to-end capability from signing to export. When choosing a POS system, built-in RKSV compliance should be a deal-breaker criterion.
