What is an FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer)
FDE is a delivery model that places engineering capability directly at the customer site. The engineer works on the front line of the business, understands the industry and its processes, and can also write code and adapt the product — delivering standard product plus on-site customization in one pass.
Unlike classic implementation or pre-sales, an FDE does not take requirements back to headquarters to be scheduled — the solution is made to work on site. That makes it a better fit for complex processes, low standardization and cases where results are needed fast.
